Silky Smooth Coconut Jelly

Really simple with agar-agar strips, rock sugar, a fresh coconut and some water, you may turn it into a delicious healthy dessert.

Silky Smooth Coconut Jelly


  • 500 ml fresh coconut water (approx.  1 coconut )
  • Coconut meat from the coconut
  • 350ml water
  • 50gm rock sugar/granulated sugar
  • 5 strips of agar agar strips (5 strips more if you want a firmer texture )


  1. In a pot, boil 350ml of water together with 50g castor sugar and simmered till you get 250 ml of syrup.
  2. Pour 500ml fresh coconut water into a heavy pot and add in the agar agar strips till it dissolves.
  3. Add in the syrup and under MEDIUM HEAT, boil the mixture till all the agar agar strips fully dissolved.
  4. Divide the coconut meat equally into jelly molds. Pour the coconut mixture into every jelly mold.
  5. Once they have cool down, chill them in the fridge for 4 hours until it has set.
